Established in 2009, the girls program in Kingwood, TX was created as a high school club sport for KHS. We have since expanded to accept all high school girls in the Northeast Houston area. Our club has a record of success on the local and national level, including state titles, college scholarships, and national rankings. Kingwood Rugby is a known commodity on the HS Girls rugby scene.
We teach our players to respect and embrace their bodies. They learn to maximize their potential. Rugby also forces the girls to learn a positive work ethic and to respect their opponents. We enforce UIL rules on our players by checking grades for eligibility. They also participate in our philanthropy events, so that they learn to give back to the community.
The club will be setting up booths at the various school's orientation camps. Look for us at the HEART Homeschooling session at the Kingwood Civic Center, AHS Flight School, KHS Stang Camp, KPHS Panther Camp, HHS CAT Camp, Porter HS, New Caney HS. Sign up there or email Coach Josh for more info. Packets will be given out at the clinics where girls are invited to try some drills for fun before committing. Dues and packets will be received when practices start in October.
The Kingwood B team finished the 2017 season as the First ever Rugby Texas Div. II Sate Champions. Great work girls.
The Kingwood Girls club sent a mixed side of A and B team girls to Orlando, FL to participate in the first Tropical Rugby 7's tournament over Easter break. The girls had a great chance to learn from international coaches as well as some tough opponents. They played 3 All-star Florida teams as well as the U18 Team USA and U18 Team Canada.
