Kingwood Girls Rugby Club
The league grew again in the number of teams. Kingwood won the Houston Area District and moved onto the State Div 1 Tournament. Kingwood went the entire regular season undefeated and only score on in 1 match. They received some national press and became the 1st team in Texas to ever be nationally ranked (highest at #23). The team Lost to Rock Rugby, while beating HEB, The woodlands, and SW Houston. The lost the championship game to Plano. Kingwood finished 2nd in Texas. The team was captained by Avery Lobusch and Ella Hurley.
Kingwood's McKenzie Borchers was named the Back MVP of Texas.
Kingwood chose to attend the Philadelphia CRC 7's National tournament as a single club instead of the state All-Stars team. There they competed for 3 days and finished 6th out of 12 national teams.
